I have been asked by Jeremy Soames, grandson of Sir Winston Churchill and Chairman of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, to bring to your attention the Churchill Fellowship. Founded as a memorial to Sir Winston in 1965, the fellowship "supports UK citizens from all backgrounds to travel the world in search of solutions for today's most pressing problems".
As the Trust explains on their website: "We will fund you to spend up to two months overseas, meeting experts, visiting projects and learning new ideas. And when you return, we will help you to use what you’ve learnt to make change happen in your sector or community." It is a remarkable opportunity for those with an interest in improving lives locally, and I would encourage anyone who is interested to apply.
Applications are now open for 150 fellowships for travel next year. Any UK citizen aged 18 or over can apply and the closing date is 17th September this year.
